Egentlig MNE #83 istedenfor MNE #97 | Konsert til Ennio Morricone 🇳🇴 🇬🇧 🇳🇱

Mitt norske eventyr #83

Ennio Morricone

ENGLISH: Thanks to a reaction on my blog I realize now that I have forgotten something beautiful. For this I need to go back to January 28 this year. On this day there Ennio Morricone had given a beautiful concert in the Telenor Arena in Fornebu (Oslo-area, Norway). I get know about the concert from advertisement in the tram – advertisement creators got me! No, just kidding. I like his music a lot and have a big respect for him as well. Especially because he is more than 90 years old and still standing on stage. But age is not that important, his music was also this day very impressive. Below you can find some pictures I took this day.

MNE #95 | Ukens Yndlingslåt (I need your opinion) 🇳🇴 🇬🇧 🇳🇱

Mitt norske eventyr #95

Yes, music!

Ellers du kan altså klikke her.

Celica Soldream) – Afterlife. Nedenfor finner du forresten to versjoner.

ENGLISH: Lately I worked a lot creating an overview of my weekly favorites songs and I have them now! – it has become a long list 🙂 This new list you can find it under the YouTube-button at the top of my blog. Or you can just click here. I’m doubting only about the colors I used in the tables and if I need to make a new button on my blog. What is your opinion? Or is it just fin this way? Please let me also know what your favorite song at this moment is. Maybe I will add your song to the next week favorite song list.

The order is maybe confusing. This week I posted a week update 94, but I life actually in week update 95. Therefore, like every week, I start this new week update white a new favorite song. For this week it is Ivan Torrent (feat. Celica Soldream) – Afterlife. Below you find two versions. The fist one is the original, the other one a remix. In my opinion the remix video fits better to the music than the original one.

Oh, I love music!

MNE #94 | Tilbake tur + morsomme bilder 🇳🇴 🇬🇧 🇳🇱

Mitt norske eventyr #94

Waiting to get on board.

Monday 15 April: Today it was time to go home. Unfortunately, there was no direct flight from Nuremberg to Oslo. Therefore, I needed to fly from München airport. But, to come to this airport I needed first make an interesting trip. Luckily, I could find the way quickly and was I in good time on the airport. This is a (short) list of how my traveling day looked like:

  • Just before 5.00 o’clock I was standing next to my bed.
  • Half 6 I went to the subway station.
  • Shortly after 6.15 o’clock I was in Nuremberg city center.
  • At 6.45 o’clock the bus drove to München city center, so I had enough time in between to get breakfast.
  • After two hours sitting in the bus I arrived in München city center. Still I needed to find the right train. For this reason, I no longer know how much time this had cost me.
  • Even though the train ride was a long way off as well, around 11 o’clock I was at the airport. Jhee, finally time to relax and eating lunch.
  • At 12.35 o’clock the airplane left the airport.
  • Two hours later I landed finally on Gardermoen airport!
  • To get home I had to take a train trip again and then take a short bus trip. Finally, I arrived home at 17.00 o’clock.

Nevertheless could I make some pictures. Below you can find the best pictures of this day.

How I will try dealing with social media (EN)

Mitt norske eventyr #92
A thing I’ll becoming more aware of is that I can get overwhelmed quickly. People, stuff, to-do-lists to name something. Everything begins spinning around me. I get frustrated and want to run away from it. One way that help me dealing with this challenge is the podcast “The Minimalists”. Because they are in many ways so dawn right!

To be clarified. Minimalism is not about having nothing or living in tiny empty houses. It’s about having just those things what gives you a lot of value. Making deliberate choices and getting more out of yourself. For example, I had around 400 CD/DVD-disks. Most of them had very old, not usable software. Still I wanted to keep it. Why? I had no reason. I only thought: how can I keep it organized? So, I started creating lot of lists, but this was not working. Then I decided to install a Windows Server with a database and a website. In addition, I wanted to have a scanner and a label printer so that I could scan and update everything quicker for saving some time… Well, if I had thought more deliberate, then I would have thrown everything directly away. This had saved me even more time what I could spent in writing a book and be more around my family and friends. Things I now wish I had done more often.

The minimalists: The things you own end up owning you.

I don’t have these disks anymore and have thrown even more “useless stuff” away. And it feels so good! One thing however I don’t have good in order is my daily planning. Lately I started again making lot of lists, but so far nothing has worked. After listening a new podcast episode, I concluded that I need to write down all the things “I’m busy with…”. After that I could directly remove some “need to-do” from this list because it had no meaning or wasn’t relevant anymore. One thing however I get stuck with is social media. This is my way to communicate and it’s also my work as in promoting my blog and supporting people living a healthier lifestyle. Simply saying, I need to clean this up or at least I need to reorganize the way I’m using social media. But where do I have to start?

Last week I found a suitable solution I like to try. It is setting my blog as number one priority. Therefrom I shall post automatically to social media. At first, I was against this idea because I was afraid losing the personal touch. Quickly I realized that it will save me time what I can use for creating even better blogpost. Also, the meaning of social media is back: communicating, not broadcasting!

The minimalists: You can’t change the people around you, but you can change the people around you.

What I like to communicate is how it goes with me in Norway. Besides I want to communicate about how I’m losing weight. Of course, we can call or visiting each other more often. But everyone has its own schedule what makes it difficult, especially traveling between different countries. Therefore, I like the idea of social media a lot. People can read daily-live-updates anytime they want, but… As there is so many platforms to choose from, witch one should be used? Each platform has its own goal. If you like sharing photo’s than Instagram fits you probably better. So is Twitter better for sharing short text messages. I rather use Facebook because it has for me a good mixture of both. But mine choice may not be suitable for someone else. Therefore, it’s understandable for me if you someone only use one platform. And that’s why I will try start posting automatically. Then everyone can still follow me on their own favorite platform without the need creating multiple access to multiple platforms. In addition, I am trying to find a good e-mail solution for those who don’t have / want to have or whatever reason they can’t use social media.

I don’t like following others, I like to follow myself.

Yes, all together you can still see it as broadcasting, but I see it as opening easier ways to my blog. I could also choose not using social media or writing a blog at all. Spending time to other “useful things”. But first, what’s would be that “useful thing”? What’s imported for me might not be imported for someone else or the opposite way. Secondly, I see not using social media as depriving myself in communicating with others. And both these two points are another point of minimalism. It’s about being busy with that what’s giving you value, not just doing things you probably don’t like to get yourself busy.

The minimalists: Love people, use things. The opposite doesn’t work.

MNE #76 | Adventskalender day 20-24 (NO & EN)

Mitt norske eventyr #70

Romjul består av to dager.

Mitt norske eventyr #70
EN: Wow, we’ve already arrived on December 24th. Since December 20, I had very busy days, so I needed a little more time to write this article. As I said in my latest article, I had my birthday on December 20th. Because I still had to work that day, I had celebrated my birthday in the evening with two other Dutch friends. I made some pancakes, and very surprisingly I got some very fine gifts. A book, beer brewed in Oslo (it was very tasty!), and for Christmas a Christmas star. In addition, I got several nice birthday wishes, and some cards from my family all the way from the Netherlands – thank you all again!

By the way, talked about work. On Friday, I heard that today and December 31st we have a day off. I had not thought of it because in the Netherlands it is quite common to work these two days. Therefore, I understand at least now much better why the last few days were so hectic. Between Christmas and new year there are only two days left. If you take these two days off as well, then you have almost one and a half week off. This is a very nice, but not if you still has to work (like me) and everything has to be rounded off before 2019 starts. Seen from a bright side, working extra hours is very good for the wallet, hehe.

Surprisingly, I started writing my own book this weekend – FINALLY! I am thinking about this story for already many years now, but after several attempts there is still nothing on the paper. So far I have written three pages full with most of all notes. It will certainly take some extra time before I have writing down all my ideas, but I finally got a good start. Oh, now that I think about my story, I want so badly continue writing my story…

MNE #75 | Adventskalender day 18-19 (NO & EN)

Mitt norske eventyr #70
NO: Heidofo folkens! For meg to spesielle dager faktisk.

Mitt norske eventyr #70
EN: Hello hello! Jup, days 18 and 19 has already arrived. For me are these days two special days actually. The 19th of December is special because this means I have a birthday tomorrow. I’ll be already 31, oi oi … No, I think it’s not that bad. It’s still a young age and I have many years in front of me to do all I want, right?

December 18th is special because one year and a day earlier I left Norway. After a night staying in Denmark, I drove further to the Netherlands. This day I sold my car and flew the same day back to Norway again. After this time, I don’t have left Norway once. Actually and easily said, I live for a whole year now only in Norway! Wow, really incredibly strange to think like that, right? Especially when I think that at the end of this year I can say that I live one and a half year in Norway, hehe. A very nice and great achievement I think!

NO: Oi, blogg.no er plutselig endret seg komplett.

EN: Oi, blog.no has suddenly changed completely. I had to try to figure out how everythings works again. Therefore, I’m a little later on my blog, sorry. Anyway, in the last few days I have opened days 11 through 14 from my advent calendar, and today already day 15. Time go to fast, right? I’m trying not to think much about it, but it’s just true that I have a birthday in 5 days. Thus, it’s less than two weeks that we’re already celebrating Christmas. Okay, I’ll stop thinking like that now, hehe. Enjoy your day!

MNE #73 | Adventskalender day 1 – 8 (NO & EN)

Mitt norske eventyr #70
NO: Virkelig ingen tull. Tid for å åpne adventskalendere! Kort sammenlagt begynner denne tradisjon midt i november.

Mitt norske eventyr #70
EN: Really no joke. I realize right now that December has already arrived. Time to open advent calendars! Because I thought at the last moment that I want to try it this year as well, I’ve bought me one at KIWI-supermarket. I think it’s not a very exciting one, and really against a healthy lifestyle. Nevertheless, I also think that lots of candy and all other imaginable unhealthy food really belong to December, right? Anyway, I think I’ve forgotten that it was already December is a because in The Netherlands we have another tradition called Sinterklaas. Last year I had already written about this tradition as homework. In short, this tradition begins in mid-November. Sinterklaas comes to The Netherlands with his helpers on his boat called pakjesboot 12. Since then, all children count the days up to 5 December. On December 5, we celebrate his birthday with a lot of presents and candy. In addition, since his arrival in The Netherlands until December 5th, there is a TV-series called «sinterklaas journaal». This TV-series is about that something has went wrong. As long as this is not resolved, there will be no Sinterklaas-celebration. So someone need to fix it to save Sinterklaas-celebration. In fact, the same story as the TV-series on the NRK with shows also every year on the television.

Although the Sinterklaas tradition is more to children, I think it is still very funny to continue this tradition. So yes, I celebrated the 5th of December a little bit as you can see in the picture at the bottom. Jup, it was even more unhealthy food, but typical candy what children can expect including clementine’s as we call between the Sinterklaas-celebration “appeltjes van oranje” what means in English “apples of orange”. Only the yellow box to the higher corner comes from the Netherlands – many thanks Robin and Jeanine! This is a chocolate letter with can only find in shops when Sinterklaas has arrived in the Netherlands. By the way, the Santa Claus chocolates I have just at it to the picture because they remind me a little at Sinterklaas, hehe.

As this tradition ends on December 5th, it is therefore that at least I never have done something with advent calendars. Well, maybe when I was young, but I cannot remember this. Therefore it was surprising that last year I saw so much about advent calendars in Norway. In addition, I have seen that NRK has started a very interesting TV-series as well that I’ve started to see them too (very good to learn Norwegian) The TV series for this year is called “Julekongen” and you can see them here.
